I’m a fully qualified and experienced Remedial Sports, Pregnancy, Advanced Thai Massage therapist and Hatha Yoga teacher.
I gained my first diploma in Holistic Massage in 2003 at the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine.
The experience of my own two pregnancies and natural births at home motivated me to study and qualify in Pregnancy Massage in 2009 with Well Mother, one of Britain’s leading Pregnancy Shiatsu and Massage educators. I offer massage for the child bearing year and sessions for the expectant mother and her birth partner exploring safe and effective massage techniques in preparation for labour and birth within your home and the hospital environment.
Since my qualification in Remedial and Sports Massage at the Western School in 2011, I’ve worked at the Achilles Heel Sports Injury Clinic and in my own massage studio. I’ve gained vast therapeutic experience in treating people participating, competing and performing in sport or other physical activity both professionally and for leisure from all walks of life.
In 2016 I completed a two year, one-to-one instructed, course in advanced Thai massage, which I celebrated with a trip to Thailand to study Thai hot herbal compress massage, Tok Sen and Chi Nei Tsang abdominal massage.
I qualified as a Hatha yoga teacher from Merchant City Yoga in 2017 as a stepping stone to study One-to-One Yoga over the next couple of years.
I constantly add to my ‘bag of tools’ - committed to offering a service that focuses on what you want us to work on. The understanding gained through your treatment will help you raise your awareness of what steps you need to take to enable you to manage your condition, improve your performance, enjoy your activity and quality of life.
I practice yoga most days steadily improving both my physical and mental strength and pliability. But I also enjoy cycling on my road bike or on a tandem with my kids, hill walking, gardening, swimming in the open water, feeling the sun or rain on my face when running along the canal, dancing through the night at music festivals, ice skating, hula hooping … as well as going to the theatre, concerts, dance and physical performances and art exhibitions
